The first Giulio Iacchetti project for our catalogue, “Vassily” is also the first example of a Tray “by the slice”, as we like to describe it on account of its potential adaptability to requests for various lengths on the same steel plate.
« “Guess who’s coming to dinner?” Whenever the buffet tray was pulled out in my house it meant that guests were coming. Even today, the tray appeals to me as an item, in that it measures the distance between the arms: the bigger it is, the bigger is the welcome and the abundance of good things on offer we have hatched an “unfolding” Tray, one that can be lengthened ad infinitum, even if, to be sure, we have limited the series to only 3 sizes!»
