EOOS
After graduating from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, Martin Bergmann, Gernot Bohmann and Harald Gründl founded the EOOS studio in 1995. Project scopes range from furniture to product design and from flagship stores to basic research. It is on the latter, indeed, that the firm’s entire design process hinges. Systematic research, beginning with a multi-disciplinary and abstract approach, requires special emphasis on the rituality of gestures, be these archetypes or in need of reinvention. In this way, the method becomes a means of formulating a Poetic Analysis of each complex theme and for hatching unexpected solutions, namely, “Things that are not recognised for what they are” (EOOS).
